The Keyboard Response utility is a high-performance diagnostic suite for gamers, mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, and developers. It measures key-down and key-up event timings directly inside the browser event queue, providing a highly accurate latency index and probing hardware-level rollover (anti-ghosting) limits.
Keyboard ghosting is a hardware limitation where certain keys fail to register when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously. This occurs because of simplified electrical grid wiring under the keys, where columns and rows overlap.
High-end gaming and mechanical keyboards feature **N-Key Rollover (NKRO)** or **Multi-Key Rollover (MKRO)**, which physically isolates every key so that no matter how many keys are held down, they all register perfectly.

For professional gaming, a total system-level latency under 5ms is ideal. Most high-performance wired mechanical keyboards poll at 1000Hz (1ms interval), while standard office keyboards or Bluetooth controllers can have 15ms to 30ms of lag.
This is a classic symptom of 2-Key Rollover (2KRO) found in inexpensive office keyboards. The internal membrane grid cannot distinguish overlapping column/row signals. Upgrading to an NKRO mechanical keyboard will resolve this.
